  1. Celebrations of anniversary of the baptism day. This could be done by a simply call or card in the email, as such simple things are incredibly powerful and your godchildren will know that they have loving godparents who remember their special baptism day! If you have any pictures of that day you can look back and choose some to remind some lovely moments.
  2.  Keep your own faith strong and grow to be more knowledgeable about your faith! One of the things where you have to feed yourself before you can feed others. If you don't have yourself spiritually sound how can you help your godchild. Over the years for that honor and gift of being chosen a godparent you have to think about being better yourself as an individual. If you cannot find online some material to listen or to read you can always talk to your local parish priest and would be a pretty good person to direct you with the information you need.
  3. Encourage a consistent life of faith. We would make a big deal of religious holidays and throughout their lives as they start to receive the sacraments typically around the age 7 when they start first reconciliation and the Holy Communion, First Confirmation, Marriage, etc. Always be focused on their spiritual life! Keep it in the back of your mind how can you reach out to them!
  4. Give your godchild traditional religious gifts. Whenever there's an occasion try to give them something that can build their faith. If it's a big religious occasion in their life - its better to present some baptism jewelry - like crosses, angels, chains, earrings, silver spoons, silver cups, etc. For other parties like birthdays or holidays you may present a special occasion dress, a book, rosary, snow globes, figurines, etc. Give them something they can actually use. You can also pay for their High School, or any group event, etc.
  5. Be supportive of your goddaughter's parents! Ask them what you can help them with in any way they need. You may offer to buy First Communion Dress for your Girl as Godparents.
  6. Pray for your godchildren! And beyond this let them know that you are praying for them because your prayer is powerful and it means you care for them.  You may tell them "Oh! I'm praying that God continues to bless you!
